6 PIN 1321 16A 30A ON-ON Double Toggle Switch is a type of switch that has two electrical contacts, also known as “blades”, and is capable of controlling two circuits simultaneously. It is also commonly referred to as a DPDT switch. 6 point toggle switch has 6 pins, with two pins used for power input and the other four pins used for controlling output circuits.

On each electrical contact, there are three pins labeled as CO (common), ON (normally open), and ON (normally open). When the on on toggle switch is in one position, the CO pin will connect to one of the ON pins, while the other ON pin will be disconnected. When the on on toggle switch  is in another position, the CO pin will connect to the other ON pin, while the other ON pin will be disconnected. In other words, this switch can switch between two different circuits and control the state of both circuits.

This Double Toggle Switch can handle a current of 16A or 30A, which makes it suitable for many high-power devices. The 6-pin 1321 16A30A ON-ON double-pole double-throw switch has a high current-carrying capacity and is suitable for many applications that require the control of two circuits, such as audio equipment, power equipment, and so on.

Composition And Atructure

1.Housing: The housing of the switch is usually made of plastic or metal material and serves to protect the internal electrical components and provide mechanical support.

2.Lever: The lever is the component used to control the switch’s state. It usually takes the form of a rod that can be switched between two or more positions.

3.Spring: The Double Toggle Switch uses springs internally to keep the button in the correct position, ensuring the switch’s normal operation.

4.Electrical contacts: The Double Toggle Switch has two electrical contacts, also known as blades, and each electrical contact can control two circuits. On each electrical contact, there are three pins labeled as COM (common), ON and ON.

5.Terminal block: The switch’s terminal block is used to connect the switch to other cables between circuits or devices. There are usually 6 terminal blocks, with two used for power input and the remaining four used for controlling output circuits.

6.Mounting screws: The Double Toggle Switch usually needs to be installed in the equipment using mounting screws to ensure the switch’s stability and reliability.

Pin type

Generally, 6 point Double Toggle Switch come in two different pin types: through-hole and screw terminals.

Through-hole pins refer to pins that are directly inserted into the printed circuit board (PCB) and are usually connected to the circuit board through wave soldering or manual soldering.

Screw terminals refer to pins that are fixed to the circuit board with screws. These types of pins usually require drilling holes in the circuit board and using screws and nuts to secure the switch to the board.

When selecting a 6-pin ON-ON toggle switch, it is necessary to choose the appropriate pin type based on the specific application and circuit board design. The selection of the pin type should consider the following factors:

Application: Different applications may require different types of pins. For example, if the circuit board has limited space, a through-hole switch may be more suitable because it usually takes up less space than a screw terminal switch. If you need to frequently replace the switch, a through-hole switch may be more convenient.

Installation Method: Your circuit board’s design and manufacturing method may also affect your choice of pin type. If you have enough space on your circuit board and need to quickly and conveniently install the switch, a through-hole switch may be a better choice. If you need a more secure installation method, a screw terminal switch may be more suitable.

Production Cost: Through-hole switches are usually cheaper than screw terminal switches because they require lower material and manufacturing costs. If you need to produce a large number of circuit boards, a through-hole switch may be a more economical choice.

Usage Scenario

usage scenario example
Power Switching The main power source to a backup power source.
Motor Control Electric curtains, electric doors.
Audio Equipment Input and output signal switching in audio equipment.
Other Control Circuits Temperature control, fan control.
Polarity Reversal 6-pin ON-ON toggle switch can be used to achieve polarity reversal

Lifespan

The lifespan of a 16A toggle switch depends on multiple factors, including materials, design, manufacturing processes, and operating environment.

Generally speaking, the lifespan of a 6-pin ON-ON toggle switch can range from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of cycles, depending on the manufacturer and product quality. The 6-pin ON-ON toggle switches produced by some manufacturers can reach a lifespan of 50,000 cycles or longer, such as those made by C&K.

To extend the lifespan of a 6-pin ON-ON toggle switch, it’s important to avoid exceeding its rated current and voltage. Also, when operating the switch, avoid using excessive force, which could damage the mechanical components. Additionally, providing a suitable operating environment with appropriate temperature, humidity, and avoiding corrosive conditions can also help to extend the lifespan of the switch.

In summary, the lifespan of a 6-pin ON-ON toggle switch can be extended by selecting high-quality products, using and maintaining the switch correctly, and providing a suitable operating environment.

Mode Of Connection

The following is the circuit diagram of the connection:

First, you need to prepare a battery, a 6 point double toggle switch, and four devices. Then, connect the positive terminal of the battery to one of the C common pins of the toggle switch.

Connect one of the ON pins of the toggle switch to one end of device, connect the other end of device 1 to the negative battery terminal.

The other ON pin connects device 2,Connect the other end of device 2 to the negative battery terminal.

Then connect the positive battery terminal to the other set of six pins of the toggle switch, one of the C common pins.

One of the ON pins is connected to one end of device 3,connect the other end of device 3 to the negative battery terminal. The other ON pin connects device 4.

When toggle the button switch, one side of the button switch is closed, and the device 1 and 3 light up at the same time and start to work; When the button switch on the other side is flipped again, the devices 1 and 3 go out at the same time and stop working, and the devices 2 and 4 light up at the same time and start working.
