1.Basic Information of the momentary toggle switch
There are four types of a momentary toggle switch:
1.Mini momentary toggle switch (usually with a mounting hole of 6mm or 8mm, mainly used in audio equipment and desk lamps)
2.High current momentary toggle switch (15A or more, usually require a mounting hole of 12mm)
3.momentary toggle switch with light (with good indication effect)
4.waterproof momentary toggle switch (with waterproof ring inside the switch and water-repellent material outside)
When selecting momentary toggle switches, it is important to consider the instantaneous current under different current conditions:
In the case of DC, the instantaneous current will be more than three times larger than the normal circuit, and it is generally multiplied by 3.5 to calculate the instantaneous current to prevent the switch from being damaged. The current of the switch that the machine should use can be calculated based on P=UI, where power equals voltage multiplied by current.
Yuling’s self-designed waterproof momentary toggle switch with light is currently the first domestic enterprise to design such a product. It has different color options, and the tail of the switch is coated with adhesive to increase its waterproof performance. The switch is generally larger and requires a mounting hole of 16mm, making it suitable for use in yachts, modified cars, motorcycles, and automated equipment.
2-pin momentary toggle switches are “ON-OFF” switches, with one side being on and the other side being off. 3-pin switches are divided into two types, “ON-ON” and “ON-OFF-ON”, with the wiring being the same for both types, but only one of the two circuit lines can be used for work at a time, and switches with an OFF mode can achieve that neither of the two circuit lines are working.
momentary toggle switches generally have the option of plug-in or screw terminals. There are various styles available, such as 2-pin, 4-pin, 3-pin, 6-pin, 9-pin, and 12-pin, which can be selected according to the actual situation. Both plug-in and screw terminals are forms of electrical components used to fix and connect circuits. Plug-in terminals are electrical components that are fixed and connected by inserting them into holes on the circuit board. They usually come in single-row straight, double-row straight, and triple-row straight styles. Plug-in terminals are fixed and connected by inserting them into holes on the circuit board, and are characterized by their simplicity of installation and reliable connections.
The advantage of plug-in terminals is their simplicity of installation and reliable connections, making them suitable for situations where installation is convenient, the size is small, and connections are frequent. The disadvantage of plug-in terminals is their lower connection strength, which makes them unsuitable for situations that require higher connection strength. In addition, since plug-in terminals need to be inserted into holes, they cannot be directly fixed on the circuit board and require other methods to fix the board.
Screw terminals are electrical components that are fixed on the circuit board by screws, and usually come in various types, such as round head, flat head, and semi-circular head. Screw terminals are fixed on the circuit board by screws and can be easily replaced, disassembled, and repaired as needed. They are characterized by their ease of installation and high reliability.
The advantage of screw terminals is their firm connections, replaceability, and ease of disassembly, making them suitable for situations that require reliable connections and easy replacement. The disadvantage of screw terminals is that installation and disassembly require tools such as screwdrivers, which are relatively cumbersome and less versatile than plug-in terminals.
SPST switch: Single Pole Single Throw switch has only one blade and one contact, and can only control the switching of one circuit. It usually has three terminals, and can be used to connect power and load, or to switch between two different circuits.
DPDT switch: Double Pole Double Throw switch has two blades and two contacts, can control the switching of two circuits, and can switch between two positions of the circuits. It usually has six terminals and can be used to switch between two different circuits in two different positions.
